Centenary Lakes Park Cairns

Centenary Lakes, located in the heart of Cairns, is a tranquil oasis for visitors to enjoy. It consists of a number of interconnected artificial lakes with a combined surface area of seven hectares.

This reserve was created in 1984 on a former landfill site to commemorate the centenary of the province and serves as a place for relaxation and recreation for all ages. It offers facilities including barbecues, playgrounds, picnic areas and walking trails set within peaceful parklands and gardens for all to enjoy.

Soak up the natural beauty of Cairns’ in this tranquil oasis located in the heart of the tropics. From picturesque walking trails and barbecue facilities to native wildlife sightings, this special spot is sure to provide an unforgettable experience for all who visit. Chinese Friendship Garden

The Zhanjiang Chinese Friendship Garden, opened in 2015 celebrates of the Sister Cities relationship between Cairns and the Chinese city of Zhanjiang.

Water provides a background to the Friendship Garden and are full of wildlife. Consequently, there are often birdwatchers and photographers enjoying the peaceful environment and capturing nature.
